DIN EN ISO certifications
SWG Schraubenwerk Gaisbach GmbH has been certified by DQS GmbH (German society for the certification of management systems, Ltd.) in accordance with the standard DIN EN ISO 9001 : 2015 for its quality management and in accordance with the standard DIN EN ISO 50001 : 2011 for its energy management system.
CE marking for wood construction screws
In each of the issues 5.2013 and 6.2013 of the magazine "Bauen mit Holz" ("building with wood") there is an article "Holzschrauben auf europäisch" ("wood construction screws at European standard") contrasting two procedures which allow the CE marking for wood construction screws. There are basically two ways for the marking of wood construction screws. On the one side by a European Technical Assessment (ETA), and on the other side by a declaration of conformity by the manufacturer on the basis of the standard EN 14592:2008+A1:2012 (system 3). However, both possibilities are highly diverse. The declatation of conformity by the manufacturer merely requires an initial inspection by a notified body and subsequent production controls at the factory. In contrast, for the CE marking by means of product certification, i.e. ETA, various inspections and monitoring procedures have to be met, after an initial inspection in the factory by the notified body. The extensive inspection plan which is part of the technical documentation of the European Technical Approval (ETA) has to be complied with, just like the regular approval of the factory production controls by the notified body. The expenditures of thme and money for the company are significantly higher with a CE marking by product certification then with a CE marking by conformity declaration. The end customer therefore has the certainty of working with a consistend high-quality product which complies with the corresponding structural claims and requirements.
Due to the product certification, SWG Production is in a position to apply a CE marking on many products. Thus, our customers can rely on consistent high products standards.

Approvals in North America
Already in 2013 the Canadian Construction Materials Centre (CCMC) gave approval for Plus fully threaded screws and for multi-purpose timber construction screws. Consequently these screws are approved under the certification number CCMC 13677-R in Canada as a means of fastener in wood constructions.
Since October 2014 these types of screws also have an approval as fastener in wooden buildings in the USA. The ICC Evaluation Service gave approval under the numbers ESR-3178 and ESR-3179.
Sustainability report
SWG Schraubenwerk Gaisbach GmbH is part of the Würth Group. Since 2020, the Production business unit has been reporting its key sustainability figures to the parent company, which consolidates the data from the subsidiaries, prepares them and publishes them in report form. This year’s sustainability report successfully combined the data of all Würth Group companies for the first time.

Environmental Product Declarations
With the support of SWG Schraubenwerk Gaisbach GmbH, business unit Production, Adolf Würth GmbH & Co. KG (AW KG) was able to create Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for steel and stainless steel screws. These were reviewed and published by the IBU.
With these Environmental Product Declarations, AW KG has created an important basis for the sustainability assessment of buildings and can therefore claim the central pioneering role for itself.

Sustainable timber construction
In 2020, SWG expanded its production area by 12,800 m². Plant 2 was built in sustainable timber construction and received two recognitions, as well as an award.
